This month we will have our yearly election for the board of the Charlotte County Republican Liberty Caucus.  Nominations will be taken from the floor.  Only dues paying members may vote. Only those who have been members of RLC for at least a year may run.  Please take the time to attend as I incorrectly stated earlier we do need at least 18 members for a quorum to vote.

After the election we can discuss suggestions for future direction of Charlotte County RLC and hear any announcements.

No one is obligated to order food or drink, but The Moose Lodge has been very generous, allowing us to use their meeting room.  Our purchases keep the doors open.  Keep in mind that your server is a volunteer and does not get paid to serve you.  Lisa has been our server and has been doing a wonderful job.  Please make sure to thank her and tell the Moose leadership how happy we are with her.  Feel free to continue eating during the discussion, no need to rush.

Stay as long as you like after the meeting.  If we need to leave the main meeting room, you are welcome to move over to the lounge until about 9:45PM.

Monthly meeting

Our January 5th monthly meeting will be held at the Port Charlotte Moose Lodge,

3462 Loveland Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL

Special Speaker James McLynas

You will hear a unique perspective regarding law enforcement and some other great topics.  James McLynas ran for sheriff in Pinellas County with platform items like restoring the role of peacekeeper, protecting constitutional rights, ending policing for profit and the war on drugs, and defending the second amendment.

You won’t find many that go into court pro se (without a lawyer) and win every time much less one that is running for county sheriff.

Mr. McLynas is an informally trained expert on many laws including the Sunshine Law.  You don’t want to miss this.

If any time is left after questions,  a suggested topic of discussion might be RLC membership growth and training.

No one is obligated to order food or drink, but The Moose Lodge has been very generous, allowing us to use their meeting room.  If you do order, feel free to continue eating during the meeting, no need to rush.  Sometimes the food doesn’t get out right away.  Please see the chairman or one of the other board members if your order gets missed.  Stay as long as you like after the meeting.  If we need to leave the main meeting room, you are welcome to move over to the lounge until 9:45PM.

Upcoming Primary

Discussion and Planning

Our July 7th monthly meeting will be held at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), 1789 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL.  We have a social hour starting at 6:00PM, after a few announcements, we will start the meeting about 7:00PM.    If you have ordered food, feel free to finish eating as we get started.  Food and drink orders are not obligatory but help to keep the room free.  There is also plenty of time to socialize and talk to candidates before and after the meeting.  You can stay as long as you like.

Charlotte County RLC, as an organization, has endorsed four candidates.  Two of our main purposes are to get candidates elected who support our limited government principles and then to hold all our officials accountable.

This is one of the most important elections in the history of Charlotte County.  We haven’t really had even one liberty candidate run for office in a very long time and we now have multiple candidates.  We have candidates that can win but it will take some work from the grassroots and donations.  I can’t stress how important it is to the future of Charlotte County that everybody that supports any or all of these candidates gets involved this election cycle.  These are all entirely grass roots campaigns.  It is up to each and every one of us to spread the word.

Time is short.  The Vote by Mail ballots will be going out shortly and early voting starts on August 8th.  Since there are only Republicans running for office, the primary is supposed to be an open primary, meaning that everybody should get to vote for the Commission candidates this year.  Make sure your friends that aren’t registered Republicans know they can vote for their Commissioner this time around.  If you haven’t been to a meeting lately, please come on out and meet the candidates.
